Resolution passed at the AUS GA!
ASSA is delighted to announce that our resolution was passed tonight at the AUS General Assembly by a nearly unanimous vote! The original form of the resolution can be read at the link below, but please note that it was amended during the GA to include that AUS will lobby in our favour for regaining the course AFRI 200. Thank you to all of those who came out and supported us tonight!

November Updates
Welcome to a whole new year of African Studies! The ASSA team is working hard this year to plan some great events for all of you African Studies majors and minors students and to work with administration on some key goals to improve our program. Also, we are working on creating our ListServ for the year by visiting all of the African Studies' eligible classes for the semester. If you haven't been able to put your name on a list, please email us at assa.mcgill@gmail.com so we can keep you posted on our upcoming events. This November, save the date for a Meet and Greet with the professors of African Studies on Tuesday the 15th (more details shortly). Best of luck with remaining midterms!
On this date in 1991, Zambia held its first multi-party elections in 23 years. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politics_of_Zambia for more details!
