UPDATES!
Hi, African Studies students!
Hope you all had a calm and relaxing reading week! Below are a few updates on upcoming events and AFRI classes.
1) AFRI 200 Reinstated! After meetings with the African Studies Program Committee and other McGill administration members, it's official-- AFRI 200: Introduction to African Studies will be offered in the 2012-2013 school year! Thank you to all of you who signed the petition that helped make this possible!
2) Logo Contest: Are you the creative type? Or perhaps just like to doodle? Sketch out a logo for the ASSA and submit it to our e-mail (assa.mcgill@gmail.com) by March 15th, and you'll be put in the running for our logo contest! The prize is a free McGill African Studies sweatshirt (the best piece of AFRI swag on da block), so send your submissions on in.
3) ISID Speaker Series: Keep an eye out for the Institute for the Study of International Development's speaker series! There are some incredible speakers coming up whose research centres on Africa
